Whilst our volunteer editors will do their best to ensure our events listings are as up to date and accurate as possible; with the fast pace of how things are changing, it is inevitable that some will slip through the net. If you are planning on travelling for larger events, we would recommend that you contact the venues directly to avoid disappointment. We are putting in place new measures to give event organisers a friendly reminder to see if they wish to remove cancelled events, so we're sorry if it looks a bit bare in here :(
If you, or any of your party have a new persistant cough, or develop a fever of 38C, we would instead advise you to use the NHS's dedicated website for free, professional advice.

Mindfulness in Nature, Mindful Yoga and Sensory Nature Journey, 13th July 2025, 10:00 to 16:00 at Sutton Courtenay Environmental Education Centre (13.4 miles)
Experience the healing power of nature with mindful yoga, sensory awareness, and practices shown to reduce stress and boost well-being.
Two workshops to help you connect with nature using all of your senses, unplug from the rush of modern life and tune in to the therapeutic qualities of the landscape. These sessions aim to restore your calm and well-being with mindful movement, and nature-based activities. Book the full day or come for either the morning or afternoon. Tea, coffee and biscuits provided.
Jo Tytherleigh will lead you through the landscape, skilfully guiding you to practice mindfulness by noticing both the minutiae and the vastness of your environment. Walking in natural environments and ‘holding a soft fascination’, is an evidence-based practice that connects us to feel the deep healing power of nature.
Morning Session: Mindful Yoga and Sensory Nature Journey: 'Rooted in Calm' 10am-12:30pm
In the morning session we will spend time outside reviving the senses. You may experience aromatic compounds from plants called phytoncides that naturally support our immune system and have been linked with lower levels of the stress hormone, cortisol. The session will include some yoga style movement, mindful awareness and opportunities for creativity, and connects beautifully with our afternoon session for those who would like a full day of relaxation.
Afternoon Session: Mindfulness in Nature: Restorative Outdoor Experience (Walk) 1:30pm-4pm
In the afternoon session we will spend time outside in guided moving meditation through the landscape. We’ll include playful breathwork, embodied movement and visualisation, giving you time to ‘just be’ in this beautiful peaceful area and to drink in your surroundings and relax. When we connect to our wilder side, we can feel fully re-energised and ready to take on the world again. This session connects beautifully with our morning session for those who would like a full day of relaxation.
Jo Tytherleigh has practised Yoga & meditation for 30 years. She lives on a small farm in Cornwall where she grows food for her local community. Here, she teaches farm to table workshops, promoting local, seasonal food, helping people understand the deep connections between soil health, biodiversity & human health.
We are committed to keeping our visitors, staff and volunteers safe. Please DO NOT attend if you or your child are unwell, or testing positive for an infectious illness, such as COVID-19. Your consideration is hugely appreciated.
Please note the centre is accessible by public transport with regular buses (including connection to Didcot Parkway railway station) serving Milton Park, a few minutes walk from the centre.

Wildlife Gardening Workshop: Low Input Gardening and Wildlife Ponds, 14th July 2025, 18:00 to 20:30 at Sutton Courtenay Environmental Education Centre (13.4 miles)
Learn how "less" can be "more" in gardening with our visiting expert, then find out for yourself the benefits a pond offers in your garden.
This evening workshop combines a talk on Low Input Gardening and a Q+A session from organic gardening expert Robert Longstaff; with a practical pond exploration session, discovering the importance of water in your garden. The talk will focus on Low Input Gardening. When gardening in harmony with nature, often less is more! You'll learn how to become "almost organic", picking up tips on re-use and recycling, reducing the amount of money you spend on your garden and gardening with nature.
The talk will finish with a Q and A session then a break for tea and biscuits (provided). After the break you'll join, SCEEC learning manager, Charlotte Howe to learn about the role of ponds in a wildlife friendly garden. This will be a practical session - using nets to dip out samples of the tiny animals living in the pond, then learning to identify them. We'll discover what the invertebrate population can tell you about the health of your pond, and how the pond is integral to a healthy and diverse garden ecosystem.
Hot drinks and biscuits provided. This event has been made possible by the Vale of the White Horse District Council Climate Action Fund.
